Locherber Milano
Portoro Lid
Naturally Elegant, the Portoro Marble is quarried in Italy near Portovenere and La Spezia.
The name derives from “Portorose” (golden door), so named for its abundant yellow or golden veins.
In ancient Roman times it was widely used in imperial villas. It was first used by Genoese and it was then spread in France where it was used to decorate such regal dwellings such as Versailles and in the early twentieth century it was exported to the United States.
