Green Onyx Lid

Calcite alabaster is the Marmor Alabaster of the ancient Romans, its name deriving, according to Pliny, from the “Alabastra” fortress in Thebes, Egypt, an area rich in quarries where materials for temples were excavated.
Originating in Pakistam, the light green alabastrite onyx is transluscent with green and brown marbling on a scale of millimetres to centimetres.
